The Epaladeniya Solar Project; commissioned for operation in 2021, is a Solar Energy Farm with the capacity of 1 MW. Set on a land extent of 3.685 Acres (14,913 square metres), it is located in Epaladeniya, Kuliyapitiya.
A single axis solar tracking implementation, the farm features a specification of P-type Monocrystalline Monofacial Solar Modules (JINKO SOLAR) and Multi-MPPT String Inverters (HUAWEI). It also houses a state-of-the-art sprinkler system for cleaning the solar panels, thus ensuring uncompromised power generation efficiency. Cutting edge centralized monitoring and command centres closely track output and make required adjustments with minimal human intervention.
When operating at peak efficiency, the project will make a saving of 636 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions per annum.
